How does one better understand my prospect’s motivations?  What is the best “case” to present to a prospect?  These are questions regularly asked by fundraising professionals.  Understanding the 7 types of donors, or their “face,” may allow you to know what they want and how they want it.  Take away some practical and immediately usable tactics to help planned gift officers be more successful.

About Our Speaker:

[ Racheal McCabe ]Racheal McCabe joins the Gobel team with over 20 years of experience in securing principal and major gifts, building lasting relationships with stakeholders, leading successful development programs, writing grant proposals and reports, and implementing strategic fundraising plans that reinforce the organization’s mission and vision.

Currently she is the Executive Director of Development at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center – an 850 bed, 13,000 employee medical center. She is an instrumental partner in identifying grateful patients as major gift prospects and effectively cultivating them for solicitation. Cedars-Sinai recently completed a $600M campaign.

She has also worked at Hoag Hospital Foundation as the Director of Major Gifts/Benefactor Program, at Children’s National Medical Center as the Director of Development, at the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Saint John’s Health Center as the Director of Major Gifts, and at USC as Senior Executive Director. In each of these roles she was influential in securing gifts ranging from $500K to $5M, managing portfolios of 150 donors, directing major gift activity, and being part of a $400M capital campaign.

Racheal has served as a board member for the American Liver Association and is also a member of AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) and AHP (Association of Healthcare Philanthropy).
